Director of the Minneapolis Jewish Film Festival
Sabes JCC Center for Jewish Arts and Humanities

The  Director of the Minneapolis Jewish Film Festival will be responsible for programming during our annual festival week and other programming during the year that supports the presenting work of the Center for Jewish Arts and Humanities.   The director will work with an assistant director, a box office assistant and the assistant to the Center for Jewish Arts and Humanities with an emphasis on the artistic content and positive revenue stream for the Minneapolis Jewish Film Festival. The Director will develop a lay board that will assist with film selection, volunteers, and fundraising. Part Time:  25-30 hours per week.  Salary:  $25,000 per year

Graphic Designer / Web Specialist
The Graphic Designer/Web Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing all graphic and branding aspects of marketing materials as well as for the website, which promote and advance the purposes and objectives of the Sabes Jewish Community Center. The Graphic Designer/Web Specialist will be a creative, resourceful, team player, comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively.

Qualifications required include:

  • Superior graphic design skills 
  • Experience with general Webmaster tasks.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and consultative team environment.
  • Strong understanding of the printing/ production process.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.  Ability to manage multiple priorities, prioritize tasks, workflow, allocate scarce resources and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to innovate and improve processes.
  • Photography experience a plus.
  • Experience coordinating projects with outside vendors.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS-Office software and design software such as:

Personal Trainer
Potential candidates will have six months of personal training experience with a BA in exercise physiology or related area, and/or nationally accepted certifications from the following list: American Council on Exercise / ACSM-American College of Sports Medicine / NASM-National Academy of Sports Medicine / NSCA-National Strength and Conditioning Association Aerobics / Fitness Association of America / COOPER / International Sports Science Association of America. CPR/First Aid certification is also required.

Excellent physical fitness is expected, as is a high level of professionalism and discretion. Successful candidates will be dependable and have a strong work ethic, as well as possess excellent verbal, promotional, and customer service skills.

This job also requires persons who are skilled in the safe and proper use of machine weights, free weights, and cardiovascular equipment. Applicants must be able to demonstrate or verbally explain proper equipment usage. Related work involves standing for long periods of time and requires bending, twisting, pulling, reaching, stretching, straining, kneeling, grasping, gripping, and frequent lifting of up to fifty pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.

Fitness Center Attendant
Staff will provide a high level of customer service for members in our fitness center. Staff is also responsible for general cleanliness of the fitness center and equipment, providing general instruction on the use of equipment, and providing assistance to members when necessary. Ideal candidates must be enthusiastic about fitness, familiar with cardiovascular and strength equipment, and have general fitness knowledge. This is a part-time position with early morning, evening, and weekend hours available.

Group Exercise Instructor
This high energy individual will lead members, in a group environment, through a pre-arranged format of exercises designed to enhance overall fitness, strength and endurance, while ensuring that the safety of the members at all times. The Group Exercise Instructor will also serve as a resource to educate members on various aspects of fitness and wellness.

In addition to a minimum of 6 months teaching in a group exercise format, you must possess a nationally recognized group fitness certification and current CPR/AED certification and basic first aid training.

Massage Therapist
Potential candidates will be energetic, customer service oriented, and motivated to grow their massage business.  In addition to providing scheduled massages, the Massage Therapist prepares massage equipment and supplies as needed, maintains supply and treatment areas, remains knowledgeable about all fitness center programs, and maintains the cleanliness and neatness of the massage treatment rooms. Candidates would also possess the ability to explain and perform various treatments to members.  The ideal candidate would be trained in some or all of the following modalities: Deep Tissue, Hot Stones, Reflexology, Shiatsu, CranioSacral, Thai, Sports Massage, and Prenatal Massage. 

High School Diploma or GED is required.  Must maintain all current massage licenses and certifications that are required on a state and local level as well as current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.

Lifeguards, Water Safety Instructors, Water Safety Aides
We are currently looking for fun, energetic, safety and customer service oriented individuals to help staff our outdoor and indoor pools for this coming summer.

Lifeguards must be currently certified by the American Red Cross on date of hire through the end of August. Water Safety Instructor certification required for swimming instructors. Non-certified applicants with significant teaching experience also encouraged to apply.

Applicants must be available for varied shifts from June-August. Some positions are currently available as well.
