Sabes Foundation Minneapolis Jewish
Film Festival The Minneapolis Jewish Film Festival presents the best feature films, documentaries and shorts from around the world on themes of Jewish culture and identity. It is dedicated to using film for its contemporary, popular value to reflect the diversity of the Jewish experience. The Festival is an opportunity to heighten awareness of this diversity around the world to audiences of all backgrounds. Through its eclectic programming of films in different languages, the Festival strives to break down stereotypes and racial barriers. MJFF hosts filmmakers from all over the globe, and presents panels, workshops, and a variety of free programs as part of the Festival’s annual programming.
Do you like to watch great films? Do you want to be part of an amazing Jewish cultural experience? Then you need to volunteer to help during the Minneapolis Jewish Film Festival, March 1-9. There are 23 films to be shown at six venues including the Mann Cinema 6 in Hopkins, Hopkins Community Center, Sabes JCC, Oak Street Cinema and the St. Paul JCC. Volunteers will serve as ushers or help with ticket sales. The time requirement is 1 hour prior to the start of each film and through the end of the film. You’ll help to pass out surveys at the end of each film. Volunteers will get to see the movie for no charge. If they help at three movies they will get a pass for another movie of their choice. (Does not include Walker Art Center Closing Night). For film details see a complete listing under “film schedule” at left. For more information and to volunteer contact Larry Shiller at 952.381.3472 or lshiller@sabesjcc.org
