ECC Overview

The Sabes JCC ECC - We're More than Just a Preschool!

Of course your child will be prepared for kindergarten, but he will also learn to swim, create beautiful art, make ethical choices, and be a good friend.

The Sabes JCC Early Childhood Center (ECC) provides year-round part-time and full-time childcare to children ages six weeks through pre-kindergarten.  The ECC strives to provide a warm, nurturing, Jewish environment for our children and families.  We seek to foster within the children a positive self-concept, a joy for learning, and the ability to work and play well with others. We value the diversity of our families and our staff.  We respect differences among our children and families and we strive to teach to each child’s strengths. We are passionate about recognizing that our children have many facets and interests that need to be addressed including: physical needs, social and emotional needs, spiritual needs, and cognitive needs.

Our curriculum is play based and developmentally appropriate.  We embrace an eclectic curriculum style that celebrates the diversity of our staff and our families and is a theme-based, emergent curriculum which focuses on age-appropriate skill building.  We believe that childhood is not a spectator sport—children’s play is their work and that they learn by making choices and by doing.  In addition, we are fortunate to be in our third year of implementing the Ethical Start™ character development curriculum in our program.
