This play takes place in North Minneapolis in the late ‘80’s. The action takes place in Silver’s Grocery Store. It is a rundown grocery owned by Izadore Silvers for 50 years. Issues involve a neighborhood with a rich and diverse history faced with the challenges of “urban renewal,” gentrification, and the survival of a small business with an aging proprietor and loyal customer base. It is a thoughtful comedy filled with cultural humor.

FILM
"An Evening at the Theatre"
June 9
1:00 PM - Minneapolis Jewish Community Center
"An Evening at the Theatre" is a short, comical film in the style of silent cinematography of the 1920's. Set at a dinner theatre variety show touting such acts as: a magician, a sword swallower, and fashion models, a comedy-of-errors ensues on and offstage as the performers, patrons, and servers bumble through a wild evening at the theatre. The film is a part of the film project of Harmony Theatre in partnership with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities.
THEATRE
Two fascinating plays by William Shakespeare:
"Julius Caesar" and "The Tempest"
adapted for and performed by the young actors of

"Julius Caesar" portrays the plot of several Roman senators against the mighty Julius Caesar. The intrigue, implementation, and resulting upheaval of their conspiracy against Caesar is the focus of this drama.
"The Tempest" is a romantic play full of fantasy and magic, with a shipwreck, a deserted island, airy spirits, and lowly monster. Freedom and forgiveness are the main themes of this, the last Shakespeare's play.
