Inclusion

Sabes JCC - An Inclusive Jewish Community Center

As part of the mission to bring people together in an inclusive Jewish environment, the Sabes JCC provides opportunities and welcomes people of all ages and all abilities in all JCC programs.

We are an inclusive community

  • We acknowledge and respect peoples’ differences because we believe in B’Tzelem Elohim.
Everyone is created in the image of God.
  • We regard inclusion as a means for instilling in our community a sense of tolerance and understanding.
  • We recognize that acknowledgement of differences plays an integral role in individual identity formation.

Caring Connections

In the past, Jewish adults with developmental disabilities have been isolated from family and friends, and not connected with the Jewish community. Since 1990 Caring Connections has offered these men and women an opportunity to take part in Jewish study, holiday celebrations, recreation and social events. The program helps to connect these adults with their heritage and with the Jewish community. Caring Connections is a collaborative effort among JFCS, Jewish Family Service of St. Paul, Sabes Jewish Community Center and the St. Paul Jewish Community Center.
