FILM SUBMISSIONS

20th Minneapolis Jewish Film Festival
February 28 – March 17

ENTRY DEADLINE: November 15

Your film must be postmarked or arrive in our office no later than the entry deadline.

The Minneapolis Jewish Film Festival (MJFF) shows the best feature films, documentaries and shorts from around the world on themes of Jewish culture and identity. To create a longer-lasting, richer experience for the audience and to generate conversation that may continue beyond the screenings, the festival also brings in guest speakers including visiting artists, filmmakers and topical experts on relevant issues highlighted in the festival’s films.


Eligibility:

  • MJFF is open to all US and international filmmakers submitting entries with Jewish content.
  • Unsolicited preview screeners will NOT be reviewed or returned unless a self addressed/postage paid envelop is included with the submission.
  • Preview screeners must be either online or in DVD, PAL or NTSC format. We HIGHLY recommend testing your disk on a stand-alone player BEFORE sending it to us.
  • Aspect ratio of 16 x 9 is strongly recommended.
  • Clearly legible English subtitles are required for all non-English language films.
  • Submission does not in any way guarantee exhibition in the Festival.


Invited Submissions:

No screening fee applies to these films. 


Unsolicited Submisssion:

  • $50 for films 30 minutes or longer (including credits)
  • $25 for films less than 30 minutes (including credits)


Liability: 

Every possible care will be taken with entries while in our possession, however, we cannot accept responsibility for loss, damage or additional charges incurred en route. Do not send original prints or master copies. Additionally, MJFF is held harmless from any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity or screening of any film.


Publicity Kits:
We ask that you submit an electronic press kit, posters and photo stills ONLY if your film is selected.


Notification:
If your work has been selected by the Film Review Committee, you will be notified by email or phone. No phone calls, please.


Reproduction Agreement: 

Entrant agrees to grant MJFF permission for accepted films and related marketing materials to be reproduced and distributed - in whole or in part - SOLELY for purposes of jurying and promotion of the festival.


Shipping:
Please label your disk with the title, director’s name, format, length, shipper’s name (if different from the director’s and shipper’s address.
