America’s Failing Health Care – Solutions and Proposals
Wednesday, June 4 at 7 p.m.

This forum will be an opportunity for the public to learn more about the failings of our current health care system, proposed solutions, and the contents and status of Minnesota’s Universal Health Care bill introduced last session. Panel includes State Representative Paul Thissen, John Schwarz, Dr. Joel Albers, and Dr. Dennis Dischinger and is moderated by Arthur Himmelman.

Ending Temporary Status – Providing a Permanent Home for Immigrants
Wednesday, June 11 at 7 p.m.

Congress has provided a temporary home for thousands of immigrants from many countries, including Liberia, El Salvador, Honduras and Somalia – immigrants fleeing their homes because of civil wars and other threats to families. Hear from leaders of these immigrant communities and advocates about how Minnesotans can help end temporary status and provide a permanent home. Moderated by Vic Rosenthal of Jewish Community Action.

Foreign Policy After Bush: Republican and Democratic Debate
Wednesday, June 18 at 7 p.m.

The Bush administration has pursued a non-wavering commitment to spreading democracy around the world especially in the Middle East. What will be the direction of the next American president? A war weary public troubled by the economy wonders whether America can continue to lead the world with its military and economic power. Come hear a debate moderated by Steven Hunegs of the Jewish Community Relations Council for Minnesota and the Dakotas.
