BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS by Neil Simon
March 19 - April 5, 2009

Brighton Beach Memoirs is part one of Neil Simon's autobiographical trilogy that reveals his early life as a Brooklyn teenager in 1937 living with his family in crowded, lower middle-class circumstances. Eugene, the narrator and central character, fantasizes about baseball and of girls his age. The play illustrates a week in the life of a lower middle-class Jewish household that includes Eugene's immediate family and his widowed aunt and her two young daughters. It is an appealing play that deftly mixes drama with comedy.

"Simultaneously poignant and funny. The characters are fully dimensional, believable... An outstanding show." - Variety

CHAPLIN by Deborah Stein
May 2 - 17, 2009

Charlie Chaplin was widely believed to be Jewish after a group of Eastern European Jewish intellectuals claimed Chaplin to be one of the greatest Jewish actors of our time. He was born in 1889 to an Eastern European Jewish family by the name of Thonstein that came to ENgland in the mid-19th centure. That simple entry spread throughout the world and it became a widely accepted fact that Chaplin was JEwish and when the NAzis came to power, he was often vilified in Nazi propaganda. This provocative and entertaining production, directed by highly acclaimed director Jon Ferguson, will become an instant classic.
Enjoyed by audiences ages 13 and older.
