Along with quality care and education in a warm, nurturing, Jewish environment, there are many additional exciting and educational programs that are included in the Sabes JCC ECC schedule:
- Weekly swimming lessons by WSI instructors are offered to children starting at 16 months. Most of the children who attend the ECC until they move on to kindergarten are able to swim with no flotation devices.
- Pre-K children participate in a reading buddy program with friends from the MJDS weekly from September through May.
- Special Shabbat programs are held weekly with our music specialist, Laurie Herstig. We also offer Shabbat sing-along the first Friday of each month, in collaboration with the Family & Parenting Center.
- ECC students also enjoy working with our Art Specialist Jeanne Aaron every week. This year the children are learning about famous artists, such as Paul Cézanne. As a special gift for the holidays, the children created beautiful ceramic Mezuzot that were fired and glazed.
- One-stop shopping: drop off your children in our Early Childhood Center, and enjoy a swim in our pool, a yoga class or a workout in our Health & Fitness Center, before you start your busy day.
- The Sabes JCC also offers drop-in childcare in Sasha's Play Space for those who would like to participate in programming while their children are cared for in a safe, fun environment. Please note: parents are required to stay on site while children are in Sasha's Play Space.

My First Art Class - Abrakadoodle
Little fingers experiment with painting, gluing, sticking, printing and creating while developing fine motor, language and self-help skills. This is an “I can do it!” class that is fun and creative. Each child leaves class with a framed piece of original art. Each session has new activities, and moms and helpers get to play too.

Taste of Tradition
Join us for one or all of the classes in this continuing series of fun, informational parent and child classes focusing on Jewish holidays and traditions. Each class session will include a craft project, holiday foods, songs and more. You will leave each class with new, fun ideas of how to incorporate the holidays into your home. This class is for parents with kids in grades Pre-K – 2. One parent may supervise two children. Advanced registration is required for participation and the Early Bird discount does not apply. Mini Doodlers - Abrakadoodle
Children develop their creativity through carefully designed lessons that ignite the imagination and develop skills. Using real artists’ materials including watercolors, tempera paints, oil pastels, creative tools and more, the children create masterpieces that are truly unique. Each child leaves class with a framed piece of original art. Each session has new activities.

Toddler Time
Instructor will use both large pool and wading pool during class. Techniques will be used to practice buoyancy, swim strokes and under water exploration. Games and Songs will be used to help children with water awareness and in stroke development. A fun and energetic class to get toddlers ready for future Red Cross Swim Lessons

Happy Feet
These classes are designed for very young boys and girls who love to dance and sing. You will be exposed to pre-ballet and tap fundamentals and will incorporate your new skills in a final sharing on the last day of class.

Growing With Music

Little Fish
Swim lessons for our youngest population as they ease their way into our level 1 classes. This course is an introduction to the pool, group learning and lessons without a parent or guardian in the water. Instructors will pick up children from our ECC classrooms if needed at 3:15 p.m. and will be brought back after class.
