At the Sabes JCC Health & Wellness Center we offer a wide variety of Group Exercise classes to keep your heart pumping, your muscles toned, and your mind refreshed.
These classes (EXCLUDING PILATES REFORMERS) are complimentary with your membership, now including Mat Pilates and Yoga! Our classes are created to offer you variety in your workout and our instructors are all nationally certified and experienced to make sure each class is an excellent experience. Classes are available to anyone at anytime, no need to register, just drop-in. Non-members can purchase a guest pass to class at the Health & Wellness Desk.
Beginners through advanced exercisers can workout side by side because all of our Group Exericse instructors will give intensity options throughout every class varying from Level 1 to Level 4 to make sure the workout is right for all participants. Comfortable workout clothes, the right shoes and a bottle of water will help you gear up for a great class!
Mat Pilates
A combination of core exercises performed on a mat to increase abdominal strength, body mechanics, and posture. Our fabulously educated teachers make this class a real treat!
Yoga
Combining breath and dynamic movement, yoga will invigorate your body and calm your mind. Your muscles will feel toned and stretched, your balance will feel challenged and improved, and your core will feel elongated and strong. Cultivate awareness while building core strength, balance and flexibility.
Pilates Reformer Class
The Pilates Reformer uses adjustable spring resistance, straps and platforms where you lie, sit, kneel or stand, allowing you to work from your core. Slow, rythmic movements emphasizes keen awareness of the body and the breath.

Cardiovascular and Muscular Endurance Training Classes
ZUMBA!
This amazingly exciting class combines high energy instructors with motivating music and choreography that helps participants dance away stress, calories and fat. It is a perfect mixture of body sculpting movements with easy to follow dance steps. It is a fun, “feel-happy” workout that is great for both the body and the mind.
Athletic Conditioning New Class!
This 45-minute class will challenege your agility, strength, speed and endurance through intense workout drills & intervals.
Power Fitness
High intensity workouts meant for intermediate to advanced exercisers that are looking to really get their hearts pumping.
Cardio Kickboxing
This fast-paced, high-energy class involves punches, kicks and jumps that will really work the cardiovascular system.
Lift n' Pump
A strength training class using motivating music and barbells with adjustable weights to work every major muscle group in the body.
Tone n' Tighten
Tone, tighten and define your body's muscles while improving muscular strength in this awesome class. Learn the ins and outs of a wide variety of strength training techniques.
Aikido Self Defense
Everyone is encouraged to try this one-of-a-kind self defense class. Learn to utilize meditation, locks & holds, physics and many more principles of non-resistance fighting, causing the opponents own movement to work against them. Walk away with a better understanding of the psychology behind Aikido Self Defense.
Water Exercise
Performed in the pool, this class incorporates cardiovascular exercise and resistance
training for a challenging, but low impact workout.
Group Cycle
Increase cardiovascular fitness and lower body strength with this powerful cardiovascular workout that simulates cycling outdoors. All levels are welcome!
Classes specifically designed for participants 50+
Forever Fit
Our famous low impact exercise class designed to improve muscle tone, strengthen the heart and lungs, and burn away calories. Very popular with exercisers over 50 but is open to everyone.
Silver Sneakers®
Move through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of motion, and skills required during activities of daily living. Hand weights, elastic tubing, and balls are used for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and /or standing support.
Silver Splash®
Activate your aqua exercise urge for variety! Silver Splash® offers LOTS of excellent benefits to your health with shallow water moves that improve agility, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. No swimming ability is required, and a special Silver Sneakers® kickboard is used to develop strength, balance and coordination.
Gentle Tai Chi
This ancient form of exercise helps unlock tight areas, works on energy flow, balance and stress management. In essence Tai Chi and Qigong exercises are specific but uncomplicated, gentle movements of the body. The benefits are optimized when they are combined with postural alignment, correct breathing and focused mind. By studying and practicing these exercises we create a superior environment for our mind and body in which to function. We substantially increase our resistance to disease in the body, and enhance the body’s natural healing process to recover from illness. A great class for any ability level.
