Aquatics

The Sabes JCC Aquatics staff are here to make your experience an exceptional one. The Barbara Ziman-Pentelovitch Indoor Pool has five lanes, as well as a ten foot deep end. Whether you want to swim laps, play with the kids, or just float around, this pool is the one for you. And if your just shy of three feet tall, Grandma Lisette’s Wading Pool, located just off the shallow end of the indoor pool, has you covered. In the warmer months the Numero-Steinfeldt Outdoor Pool Complex offers many of the same amenities with the added excitement of a diving board and waterslide. If you should happen to find yourself famished or parched while taking in the sun, our concession stand has a variety of tasty summer treats to keep you satisfied. So stop by and jump in for some great aquatics fun!

If it’s water education or fitness that you’re after, the Sabes JCC offers a variety of classes for all ages and abilities. We offer group classes, as well as private and semi-private classes with one-on-one instruction from our certified Water Safety Instructors and Water Safety Aides. Most water exercise classes for adults are free with membership.

New Sabes JCC Swim Academy

The new Sabes JCC Swim Academy introduces the Aquatics Concepts curriculum, delivering not only quality swimming instruction, but a fun and exciting experience for all ages.

What’s new and different about this program?

Small class size = greater attention
Unlike typical swimming lessons, the Swim Academy classes never have more than four or five swimming students. This allows for greater individualized attention and safety for participants.

Specialized levels = greater success
Levels begin with infants and go through adults. Each level has a specific set of skills that are taught, and the skills are practiced each time the swimmers get in the water. Students are able to master the building blocks of swimming faster; practicing the same skills each time they come to swim.

Creative tools = greater fun
The Swim Academy uses age-appropriate games, songs and teaching techniques to ensure that everyone enjoys their lesson and leaves the pool with a satisfying sense of accomplishment.

Classes are offered throughout the week, so you can pick one that best fits your schedule.

Sabes Swim Academy Testimonials of Success and Satisfaction

Joely is a member of the swim team, and her mother had this to say: “Wow, thank you so much for sharing! I have been out of town all week traveling for work and when I came home last night Joely couldn't wait to share her goal note with me. She was so proud of herself and we were so proud and amazed at what she accomplished!!!! I am really impressed with how hard the kids are working and how much they have been accomplishing this season. As you're aware, I am unable to come to practices or pick up Joley to get updates as I'm working but I really appreciate you taking the time to share with me her progress and share with her what a great accomplishment this is. Thanks again!!!!” Lisa Gendler

Peggy Mandel’s girls Margo and Aleeza participate in the Log Rolling Program: “When the girls first took log rolling, the first thing they asked me when they got home was when can they sign up again for the next session. The night before log rolling they pack up their things and can’t wait until school is done to jump on the log and get rolling. We love this program!” Peggy Mandel
