The health and fitness department of the Sabes JCC offers an excellent selection of classes designed to increase the physical health of every member. The warm and friendly environment created is designed to ensure that, whatever your abilities or current fitness level, there is a class, program, or trainer which is right for you.

Adult Karate

Karate or Tae Kwon Do (Korean Karate) is a martial art teaching discipline, focus, awareness, coordination, and self-defense. Tae Kwon Do means “open hand” – thus it is a martial art without the use of weapons. Uniforms will be required after the first class and will be available for purchase through the class instructor.

Prenatal water exercise & discussion group

An exercise and discussion group for expecting moms. Join at any time during your pregnancy and the class rate will be pro-rated. Come enjoy a relaxing water workout that is tailored specifically for the mother-to-be. Each session will include a short discussion on the latest topics relevant to your pregnancy as well as a chance to chat with other expecting moms. Drop off day care is available for a small fee for older siblings in Sasha’s Play Space. This class is still available at a pro-rated fee. This class is designed to improve balance in older adults. The balance program goals are to increase muscle strength, improve posture, mobility, flexibility, and range of motion while increasing muscle endurance. Chairs will be used for support.

Balance & Fall Prevention II/III

A continuation of our popular Balance and Fall Prevention I program. Participants must have taken our Balance and Fall Prevention I or II class to participate in this session. Line Dancing
