Week at a Glance - It's Good To Give Thanks!
The Minneapolis 2008 JCC Maccabi ArtsFest schedule is packed with artistic creation, community projects, a celebration of Israel, and many other exciting events. The theme of ArtsFest Minneapolis is It's Good To Give Thanks! - "Tov L'Hodot" - and the theme will be incorporated into every part of ArtsFest. Here is a brief overview of the week's schedule:
Sunday
Teen Artists Arrive with local delegation and connect with host families at the Sabes JCC
Teens have dinner with their host families, and then gather at the Sabes JCC to meet Artists-in-Residence and perform for their peers at an opening ceremony.
Monday
Morning warm-ups, announcements, and artistic sharing
Teen artists work intensively with their designated Artist in Resident for most of the day
Artists spend the evening with their host families
Tuesday
Morning warm-ups, announcements, and artistic sharing
Teen artists work intensively with their designated Artist in Resident for most of the day
Day of Caring and Sharing: Inspired by our theme, It's Good To Give Thanks, ArtsFest teens will visit Mary's Place and the Boys & Girls Club of Minneapolis to conduct Art Carnivals with local youth.
Artist dinner and evening party - celebrating Israel's 60th Birthday! Swimming, field activities, dancing, bonfire, and more!
Wednesday
Morning warm-ups, announcements, and artistic sharing
Teen artists work intensively with their designated Artist in Resident for most of the day, preparing for final presentation.
Artist dinner and evening party at Nicollet Island in Minneapolis
Thursday
Morning warm-ups, announcements, and artistic sharing
Artists work with in their specialty areas to prepare for the closing performance in the evening
Closing Performance: The Hopkins Center for the Arts in downtown Hopkins, MN - featuring the work of all ArtsFest artists
Closing Party: at the Sabes JCC - a party for all artists, as well as for Host Families, VIPs and volunteers.
Friday
Artists leave Minneapolis with their local delegation.
