Requirements

Teen artists spend nights during the week at the home of Jewish families in the Twin Cities. Host families will be asked to host two or more teen artists, providing them with a safe and comfortable place to stay during their week at the JCC Maccabi ArtsFest in Minneapolis. Below are some requirements in order to host teen artists for ArtsFest. • A host family must house two or more teen artists (not including their teen artist if they have a teen participating)
• Each host family must attend a host family orientation run by the Sabes JCC.
• Host families will pick up teen artists on Sunday, August 17 at the Sabes JCC, and provide dinner for them.
• Each teen artist must have their own bed (pull out couches and air mattresses are considered beds)
• Each teen artist should have access to home laundry facility
• Host families will provide breakfast and evening snacks when needed.
• Host families will spend "Host Family Night" (Monday, August 18) with their teen artists, showing them the host city. Families may organize a local block party with other host families and teens, visit one of Minneapolis' wonderful lakes or museums, or take the teens to the Mall of America.
• Host families will drive their teen artists every morning to the Sabes JCC and pick them up each day after evening activities, usually between 9-10:30 p.m.
• Host families are given two complementary tickets to attend the Closing Showcase on Thursday, August 21, at the Hopkins Center for the Arts in Downtown Hopkins. Additional tickets may be purchased by calling 952.381.3499.
• Host families will drop their teen artists off at the Sabes JCC on Friday for departures home.
