Day of Caring and Sharing

To give back to the community and in thanksgiving for the opportunity to be involved in JCC Maccabi ArtsFest, the teens participated in a Day of Caring and Sharing, a half-day community service project on August 19. In Minneapolis, the teens will hosted an Art Carnival for both Mary’s Place and the Boys and Girls Club.

JCC Maccabi ArtsFest Minneapolis
August 17-22, 2008

The Sabes Jewish Community Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota hosted the 2008 JCC Maccabi ArtsFest August 17 – 22, 2008. Over 170 Jewish teens entering grades 8 through 12, representing over 50 cities from the United States, Canada and abroad attended the five-day festival of performing, visual, and literary arts. The JCC Maccabi ArtsFest is designed to inspire Jewish teenaged artists through a dynamic combination of workshops, performances, exhibitions, recognition of excellence, community service, and social activities. Teens develop their individuality through the medium of artistic expression while strengthening their bonds to their Jewish heritage, community, and Israel.

Saturday, September 27, 8:30–11 p.m.

This exciting reunion event is open to 2008 ArtsFest participants and their friends, and will include an open-mic style ART-Slam at 9 p.m., tasty refreshments, games and prizes, dance party, and a sneak-peak at the 2009 JCC Maccabi ArtsFest.
