The Jewish Community Center
of Greater Minneapolis
SPECIAL NEEDS
INCLUSION FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES
The JCC is committed to providing individuals with disabilities full access to
our facility and programs. The Center works with families, organizations and
individuals to ensure a successful experience for each participant with
special needs.
Our mission of inclusion extends to children and adults alike. The JCC invites
group homes serving Jewish individuals with special needs to become part of
the Center through family membership.
If you or a family member need assistance in order to participate in a JCC
program, please note this on your registration form. Our inclusion director will
contact you to make appropriate arrangements. For a copy of the JCC Inclusion
brochure, please call Scott Barr at (952) 381-3425, or e-mail him at
[email protected].
The JCC also offers on-going inclusion programs:
Caring Connections
A collaborative group for Jewish adults with disabilities. Sponsored by the
Minneapolis and St. Paul JCCs and Jewish Family and Childrens Services.
The Learning Hour
As part of the Caring Connections program, adults with disabilities meet
monthly at the Center to learn about Jewish Holidays and traditions.
Teen Mentors
A social group that pairs typical teens with teens with disabilities. This group
meets monthly for social events and activities. Teens interested in being part of
this mentoring program can contact the Inclusion Director Scott Barr at (952)
381-3425.
