Author of My Son Wears Heels

When Julie Tarney’s only child Harry was two years old, he told her, “Inside my head I’m a girl.” Fast forward 25 years, and Tarney is now the author of the book My Son Wears Heels, as well as a blog by the same name. She is also an advocate for LGBTQ youth, a blogger at The Huffington Post, contributing voice for My Kid Is Gay and the True Colors Fund’s Give A Damn Campaign, and serves on the Board of Directors of the It Gets Better Project.
