We Are One! January 1, 2021

We are thrilled to announce that the Board of Directors of the St. Paul JCC and the Board of Directors of the Sabes JCC unanimously voted to authorize the combination of the two JCCs effective January 1, 2021. This momentous vote is the culmination of several years of work to create a vision and path for the future, building upon our shared Jewish values and cultures, with an emphasis on serving others, inclusivity, community, mutual respect, excellence, and innovation.

The combined JCC will include two independent non-profit organizations. The Minnesota JCC will operate all of the JCC programs and services at both Centers in Minneapolis and St. Paul. The Minnesota JCC Foundation, with the sole purpose of supporting the JCC, will oversee the management and allocation of JCC invested funds and real estate assets.

A single JCC with two campuses propels us into the future as our community comes together as ONE. The new model provides opportunities for growth and sustainability – to reach more people, provide more programming and services, and to build upon what the JCCs do best.

What does the Minnesota JCC mean for you – our members and visitors?
Our members and guests will continue to enjoy the same high level of programming and services that you have come to expect from the JCCs in Minneapolis and St. Paul. Summer Camp, Fitness, Childcare, Inclusion programming, Adult and Senior programs & services, BBYO, and Jewish Cultural Arts will continue be available to the entire Twin Cites community. Over the coming months, we will be focused on ensuring a smooth integration and seamless transition – always asking the questions – ‘How can we serve the community in ways big and small? What are the opportunities for growth that will enhance our ability to create community?

We are honored to have Michael Waldman serve as the first Chief Executive Officer of the Minnesota JCC and Minnesota JCC Foundation and he wanted to take this opportunity to thank so many who have worked to make this vision a reality. “Thank you to the exceptional staff of both JCCs, whose passion and creativity bring our mission to life through good times and challenging times; the St. Paul JCC Board of Directors, the Sabes JCC Board of Directors and the JCCs Steering Committee for your dedication and leadership; and to Minneapolis Jewish Federation, the St. Paul Jewish Federation and all our community partners for your unwavering support.

And finally, thank YOU, for allowing us the privilege to serve you and to play a role in your lives each day.”

We look forward to January as we begin anew! We are ONE!
