PT position


Immediate opening for a part time professional massage therapist available for morning, night and weekend appointments. Flexible schedule available. Primary responsibilities are performing safe, professional and therapeutic massage designed specifically on the client's individual needs, creating an excellent experience for clients through friendly and helpful attitude and promoting services to build clientele. PT position


This position will be responsible for the administration of the Adult Basketball League program, communication with team captains and league participants regarding program dates, registration, game play (schedules) and rules and regulations in addition to checking in league players, monitoring adult basketball league and playoff games, supervising referees and scorekeepers and maintaining league statistics and schedules. Knowledge of the sport of basketball, basic knowledge of MN State High School League and JCC Basketball League rules and regulations, the ability to communicate effectively to officials, players, desk staff and Fitness Director, previous experience refereeing, playing and/ or scorekeeping basketball as well as the ability to supervise others are required. Must be at least 18 years of age.

PT Exempt position


Responsible for internal room scheduling and the coordination and administration of Barry Family Campus rental and events program. Also provides support to the Manager on access and ID cards and general administrative duties as needed.


  • Serve as direct contact for internal and external clients, providing excellent customer service.
  • Manage work schedule to be available for rentals and events as needed to ensure client comfort.
  • Update and maintain event management software calendar and setup needs. Communicate changes in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate details of events, staffing, setups, and details with Housekeeping and Maintenance to ensure events run as required.
  • Prepare and implement event contracts, correspondence, manage and monitor invoicing, collection and reimbursement accounts. Prepare monthly reports for Campus Manager as required.

Working Conditions: Primarily, general office atmosphere. Job requires extended periods of sitting with periodic bending, stooping and kneeling and walking.


  • Four (4) year college degree or equivalent experience

Early Childhood Center Educational Specialist

PT Salaried Exempt (30 hours per week)

Closing date: September 25, 2015


The Education Specialist will plan and execute appropriate activities and curriculum; observe and evaluate children’s development; will work collaboratively as part of a team; and is responsible for the safety of the children and providing energetic, warm care. Additionally this individual will serve as a leader and mentor for the teaching staff as well as resource for families and parents.


  • Assist teachers in developing and implementing curriculum to meet the academic, social, emotional and physical needs of the children that align with the developmentally appropriate practices that meet the Minnesota Early Learning Standards.
  • Serve as educational resource for families. Work with Directors to create monthly research based text studies.
  • Develop and implement monthly ECFE classes; providing enriching experiences for children 0-5 and their families.
  • Coordinate ECC enrichment and special events.
  • Coordinate and lead Camp Gesher and Camp Curiosity.
  • Coordinate and document all staff development and continuing education.
  • Work with Directors to plan and implement staff meetings and development
  • Provide support and share resources with classroom teachers.
  • Conduct observations of specific children as requests by classroom teachers or Directors. After specific observations provide feedback and suggest strategies to address concerns.


  • A BA/BS degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education.
  • Meet Rule 3 DHS requirements for Lead Teacher.
  • 3-5 years’ experience working with children and families.
  • 1-3 years’ experience assisting and mentoring teachers with curriculum.
  • 1-3 years’ experience with behavioral observations and spectrums.
  • Familiar with Rule 3 expectations.
  • A passion for working with young children and their families.
  • Have effective communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Be able to use general forms of technology (email, word, voicemail, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with people at all levels and in all settings relevant to the Sabes JCC organization mission and ECC vision.

Coordinator of Lifeguard and Safety

FT Exempt position


The Coordinator of Lifeguard and Safety provides daily direction and supervision for Lifeguards and Safety staff. The incumbent assists the Program Manager in meeting established participation and revenue goals. The incumbent hires, trains and supervises staff in conjunction with the Program Manager.


  • Works with Program Manager to recruit, hire, on board, train, develop, and supervise staff.
  • Provides daily direction, supervision, and scheduling for Lifeguard and Safety staff and other Aquatics as needed.
  • Assists the Program Manager in the implementation of safe, quality aquatics programs, specifically private lessons, group lessons, Master Swim program, and red-cross classes.
  • Ensures a high level of customer service which enhances the member, program participant and guest experience and satisfaction.
  • Participates in the budget process and manages day to day programing to ensure revenue, program goals, and expense targets are achieved.
  • Assists in the process to ensure the quality, cleanliness and maintenance of and the Aquatics program areas.
  • Perform “hands-on” work on average of 50% of work week. This may include lifeguarding or swim instruction.

This job description represents the major functions of the position but is not intended to be all-inclusive. The incumbent is also responsible for taking direction from the Chief Operations Officer in completing projects or performing duties deemed necessary for the JCC’s success.


  • Minimum of two (1) years of experience working in aquatics
  • Minimum of six (6) months of supervisory experience

  • Current Lifeguard, CPR/First Aid, AED certification

Lifeguards, Water Safety Instructors and Water Safety Aides

We are currently looking for fun, energetic, safe and customer service oriented individuals to help staff our indoor pools and outdoor pools for the summer. (Positions available immediately as well!)


Must posses current certification of the following:

  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Training (or equivalent training)
  • American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer (or equivalent training)
  • American Red Cross First Aid for Public Safety Personnel (or equivalent training)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Project and promote a professional image
  • Explain and enforce facility regulations, policies, and procedures to patrons
  • Rescue swimmers in need of assistance
  • Demonstrate proper rescue techniques, including but not limited to, swimming rescues, First Aid, and CPR
  • Administer emergency care to patrons in need of assistance
  • Monitor activities of patrons in the water and on deck and minimized the possibility of patron injury
  • Conduct routine chemical test of the water on a daily basis
  • Keep accurate records of incident reports, maintenance, and chemical testing
  • Lifeguard salaries range from $8.50 to $12.00 DOQ


Water Safety Instructor certification is not required for swimming instructors, but strongly preferred.

Member Experience Associate

The Sabes JCC has a Part Time/Full Time opportunity for a customer focused Member Experience Associate. This position will work a variety of shifts at the fitness check-in desk, on the fitness floor and have administrative responsibilities. Successful applicants will have strong experience in face to face customer service excellence and must have an interest and experience in health and wellness. In addition, a "can do" attitude, excellent multitasking abilities, computer skills and a passion for fitness is required. Massage Therapist

    Fitness Center Attendant

    Staff will provide a high level of customer service for members in our fitness center. Staff is also responsible for general cleanliness of the fitness center and equipment, providing general instruction on the use of equipment, and providing assistance to members when necessary. Ideal candidates must be enthusiastic about fitness, familiar with cardiovascular and strength equipment, and have general fitness knowledge. This is a part-time position with early morning, evening, and weekend hours available.

    Group Exercise Instructor

    This high energy individual will lead members, in a group environment, through a pre-arranged format of exercises designed to enhance overall fitness, strength and endurance, while ensuring that the safety of the members at all times. The Group Exercise Instructor will also serve as a resource to educate members on various aspects of fitness and wellness

    In addition to a minimum of 6 months teaching in a group exercise format, you must possess a nationally recognized group fitness certification and current CPR/AED certification and basic first aid training.

    Youth, Sports and Recreation Job Opportunities

    The Sabes JCC is looking for enthusiastic, motivated and reliable young adults (18+) for various positions working in our youth health and wellness programs. We have several job opportunities within our sports and recreation department, health and wellness department, and working in our kids fitness center (KidsFit).     Daycare Provider for Sasha's Play Space


    The Sasha's Space provider is responsible for providing a safe, positive and nurturing environment while giving excellent care and customer service for children and parents that are using Sasha's Play Space.


    • Responsible for the general health, happiness, and safety of all children in Sasha's Play Space
    • Interact and develop relationships with the children, their parents, and the fellow staff members in Sasha's
    • Maintain control of children and ensure children are safe and behaving appropriately
    • Enforce room rules and policies kindly but firmly
    • Check telephone messages and take reservations
    • Care for each child in Sasha's Play Space by playing with and engaging them and changing them when necessary

    Certified Personal Trainer

    • Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university in Kinesiology, Corporate Fitness, Physical Education, Sports Management, Recreation or a related field.
    • Nationally recognized personal trainer certification, NETA, AFFA, ACSM, NASM, ACE, and NSCA, other specialized certifications upon approval.
