inclusion programs
Jewish summer camp is a place where values are taught, community is developed, and lifelong friends and memories are made. We believe that each child deserves the opportunity to experience Jewish summer camp and our Inclusion Program is dedicated to providing a successful summer camp experience for your child.
Whether your child requires limited help or a dedicated advocate, we strive to make the appropriate accommodations in all our camp programs. We work to understand and thoughtfully address each camper’s needs to determine the resources necessary to enable meaningful participation.
The Summer Inclusion Program is made possible through the generosity of private donors, through directed donations made possible through the Minneapolis Jewish Federation, and through the support of the Toodie and Frank Trestman Special Needs Collaborative Education Endowment Fund, a designated fund of the Jewish Community Foundation of the Minneapolis Jewish Federation. Availability of resources to accommodate special needs campers is limited. Please consider making a donation to this invaluable, inclusive, Jewish summer camp experience on behalf of those children who require additional support.

host an israeli
Now a tradition, Camp Olami is bringing staff from Israel known as Shlichim (emissaries). Shlichim are in their early twenties and most have just finished their army service. These talented individuals will be here for the summer as part of our camp community working with our staff to bring Israel a little closer to us.
We are seeking warm, welcoming families to house our Shlichim and be their home-away-from-home this summer. Please consider opening your home to an Israeli guest for approximately three weeks. A fun experience for you and your family, many of our Shlichim and host families form lasting relationships, maintaining contact with each other long after the summer has ended. Shlichim, in turn, are delighted to entertain their host families when they visit Israel.
If you are interested in housing a Shaliach this summer, please contact the Sabes JCC Summer Camp Hotline: 952.381.3421 or [email protected].
