Recognizing the Community Leadership of Rhonda Stein and Stuart Goldenberg
For decades, Rhonda Stein and Stuart Goldenberg have independently and in partnership taken on leadership and volunteer roles that have had a positive
and enduring impact on our community. Their dedication to the betterment of the lives of individuals and the life of our community can be summed up in
a famous quote by Albert Schweitzer, “The three most important ways to lead people are, by example… by example… by example.”
Stuart has served on the Boards of Directors at the Sabes JCC, Temple Israel, Minneapolis Jewish Federation, and the Cardozo Society. He also served on
the Board of Governors for the Minnesota Association for Justice and as a volunteer attorney for victims of the I-35W bridge collapse and of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Rhonda has served as Board member and treasurer of NCJW and on the Herzl Camp Annual Benefit Committee. At JFCS, she chaired the Benefit and has held numerous Board positions, including chairing the annual campaign. And, at the Minneapolis Jewish Federation, Rhonda has served as the Women’s Philanthropy President, Fundraising Chair, and on the Board and Executive Committee.
Together, Rhonda and Stuart co-chaired the Federation’s Annual Campaign and have been leaders in the JCC’s Annual Golf & Games Event since its inception nineteen years ago. GoldenbergLaw has sponsored the “Putting for Gold” game each year, and Rhonda was instrumental in creating the “Games in the Clubhouse” aspect of the event that has grown from 25 participants playing Canasta, Mah Jongg and Bridge in its first year to close to 200 participants annually. Both of these additions to the JCC’s Annual Golf & Games Event have brought in tens of thousands of additional dollars in support of scholarships for children, over the years.
Though their volunteerism and generosity have added value to their lives and greatly benefited our community, Rhonda and Stuart’s most favorite roles are as partners, parents, and grandparents. Thank you, Rhonda and Stuart, for all that you do and for the example you set for all of us on the importance of supporting and serving our community.
