Sabes JCC Update
Wednesday, November 18, 2020
Today Governor Walz announced a new round of coronavirus restrictions as COVID-19 continues its rapid spread throughout the state. These restrictions include the closing of all indoor fitness centers. The new measures are to go in effect beginning Saturday, November 21 and are planned to last four weeks.
To that end, we are sad to inform you that the JCC Fitness Facilities will temporarily close at end of business day on Friday. At this time, the JCC Early Childhood Center and School-Aged Childcare will continue to operate. We will continue to offer critically needed in-person supportive services and a wide range of virtual programming to the entire community through OUR VIRTUAL JCC. In addition, virtual fitness programming will be available exclusively to JCC members.
We understand that the impact of COVID-19 is devastating for our members, our community and our staff. The role of the JCC has always been the place where people can gather, connect with one another, and exercise their bodies, minds and souls. It is a place where people welcome and take care of one another. That continues to be our mission.
The health and safety of our community is our highest priority. Our decision as to when and how to reopen will be based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Minnesota Department of Public Health, local health officials and our JCC leadership. We will keep you updated along the way.
We have created virtual tools and resources to help you stay healthy, connected and engaged during these unprecedented times. Check back often and we are updating every day!
