Early Childhood Center Kitchen Worker
This part time position is responsible for preparing and serving morning and afternoon snack, washing and sanitizing dishes, and maintaining cleanliness and order in the ECC Kitchen.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Provide high-quality customer service to our clients in a manner which reflects the mission and values of the Sabes JCC ECC.
- Preparing and serving morning and afternoon snack to the toddler, preschool, and prek classrooms.
- Wash and sanitize snack and lunch dishes and buckets.
- Complete weekly tasks such as taking inventory, washing cabinet fronts and countertops, cleaning refrigerator and microwaves, and putting away orders.
- Communicate with Assistant Director regarding snack menu and ordering needs.
- Prepare bleach bottles and soapy water bottles for all classrooms daily.
- Sanitize infant toys daily.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Degree or Equivalent.
- Pass background check per Rule 3 licensing.
- Ability to relate to a highly diverse environment and to be a team player.
- Ability to function productively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment, work independently and accept direction.
- Have energy and physical stamina to complete routine tasks.
- Be able to lift up to 35 pounds and push up to 75 pounds.
- Anticipate and prevent problems; utilize problem solving skills.
- Calm and positive attitude.
- Food Manager Certification or willingness to obtain certification within 2 weeks of hire (certification requires 6 hours of in-person training).
- Prefer previous experience working in food service.
