Member Experience Associate (Desk Staff)

This position is a customer service position responsible for staffing the Health & Fitness Desk and/or Service Desk and assists in the New Member Experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Greet all members and guests enthusiastically and professionally in person and by telephone
  • Ensure safety and security measures in place at the SJCC remain a priority at all times
  • Check in members guests according to JCC Identification Procedures
  • Accepting payments and generating receipts at POS computer
  • Answering the telephone and directing calls to the proper person
  • Assist patrons by being knowledgeable of Fitness Center and community/campus programs and events
  • Act as a liaison to the JCC management staff, keeping them abreast of all customer service issues and concerns
  • Ensure all supplies are stocked and maintain availability
  • Assist in the administration of the new member experience
  • Additionally, any responsibility that would be required to maintain effective member relations; issuing photo ID cards, addressing membership inquiries, keeping surrounding area organized and other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • 18 years or older
  • Committed to serving the community, the membership of JCC and each other
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Enthusiastic, energetic and pleasant personality
  • Maintain a positive and courteous attitude at all times
  • Must have the ability to multi-task
  • Clear and effective communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as well as being able to collaborate effectively with colleagues to effectively problem solve
  • Computer literacy and knowledge of applicable programs
  • CPR and First Aid certified within 90 days of employment
