Performance: Swingin’ Through the Decades

Rhythm & Swing’s fun, energetic show is jam-packed with fast-paced footwork and spectacular aerials that exemplify the fascinating history of this original American dance form. In the 1920s, jazz music flourished in Harlem’s ballrooms where Lindy Hop – the original swing dance – evolved out of the Charleston. This dance remained popular and spanned decades of changing music styles, from early jazz to the big band sounds of WWII, to early rock ‘n’ roll music, and today’s hot jiving sounds. Swing dance is a perennial hit!
